On the 1st and 2 ne of July
The first international conference: “World Viticulture and Winemaking: History, Modernity and Sustainable Development Perspectives” was organized by “Iter Vitis Georgia” and Georgia Technical University in Tbilisi.
The conference was dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the university and was held with the support of the faculties of agrarian sciences and biosystems engineering, business technologies and sustainable mountain development of the Technical University of Georgia, as well as the scientific and educational center of viticulture and winemaking.
Viticulture and winemaking is the leading field of Georgia. The international scientific conference “World Viticulture and Winemaking: History, Modernity and Sustainable Development Perspectives” is important for the purpose of sharing experience in the field of world viticulture and winemaking, establishing new contacts and deepening international relations in the scientific direction, which will contribute to the popularization of Georgian vine and wine culture and enogastronomic culture.
The conference was attended by the Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture – Yuri Nozadze, the Deputy Chairman of the National Wine Agency – Zurab Vacharadze, the Director of the Scientific Research Center – Levan Ujmajuridze, the President of the Georgian Academy of Agricultural Sciences – Guram Aleksidze, as well as local and international representatives from wine private industry and the universities from Italy, Spain and Israel.
In order to implement joint educational and research projects in viticulture and winemaking, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the universities of Georgia and Israel, as well as Iter Vitis Georgia.
