It was opened on July 3rd at 8.30 pm the Mediterranean Vineyard, the new project thought and realized by Cantine Ermes – Tenute Orestiadi.
The symbolic ribbon cutting was in streaming on the winery’s social media pages, in order to respect the new no-covid rules. Live from the vineyard just Rosario Di Maria, CEO of Cantine Ermes – Tenute Orestiadi; Salvatore Sutera, Mayor of Gibellina; Calogero Pumilia, President of the Orestiadi Foundation; Domenico Mogavero, shepard of Mazara del Vallo and Keith Abdelhafid, chief of the islamic community in Sicily.
The debate about wine, art and culture in the Mediterranean area was lead by the journalist Stefania Renda.
After the debate, the famous actor Alessandro Preziosi, read some text written by Ludovico Corraro from “The Mediterranean dream”.
Then, into the bothanical garden, live music by the Pagoda Universe.
THE VINEYARD
Composed by different variety of the same cultvar, the Muscat, the vineyard has in every spin a different expression of this varietal, from different Country of the Mediterranean.
In the sign of Ludovico Corrao, main carachter of the Gibellina’s rebirth and big sostainer of cultural bridges, in continuity with his work, the objective of this vineyard is represent the meeting, the dialogue and the sharing between Mediterranean people.
The idea was born during the Scirocco Wine Fest, because every Country have an expression of Muscat.
For Cantine Ermes – Tenute Orestiadi it is the natural prosecution of the company’s projects: ask to the town a desolate space near the Bothanical garden and commute it in a vineyard: 1.800 meters and 500 plants from Italy, Spain, France, Greece, Malta, Turkey, Tunisia.
Into the vineyard there is the Scirocco Wine Fest sculpture, that represent, with 3 wine glasses, the importance of wine as aggregation, symbol of a conviviality without borders.
