Iter Vitis, and the Borghi più Belli d’Italia (Most Beautiful Villages of Italy) Association sign an agreement to activate the membership of the all wine-growing villages (borghi) into the Cultural Itinerary.
A few months ago we had begun a census of Municipalities to be included in all Member States in a team of Iter Vitis Municipalities in order to give European and extra-European visibility even to small municipalities and to be able to work at a capillary level on the territory with small and large projects that promote the values of the Council of Europe, cultural and sustainable tourism linked to the territories of wine.
In Italy it seemed logical and very opportune to cooperate with the prestigious Association of the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy because it already includes Municipalities that work intensively in respect of environmental, social and cultural sustainability. Among other things, Iter Vitis was born in 2007 in Sambuca di Sicilia, the most beautiful village in Italy in 2016. A very strong bond therefore already linked us with the quality brand Borghi più Belli.
The Association of Borghi (almost 400) is active with many initiatives that will allow to raise awareness of the precious heritage linked to the brand of the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe all over Italy. Villages with a wine-growing vocation will therefore be able to apply for admission and reinforce the network of Iter Vitis Municipalities and also use the logo of the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe in their signs and receive support in the consolidation of international partnerships.
