Reus Promoció will attend the General Assembly of Iter Vitis on 17 and 18 October. Iter Vitis is the European network, recognised by the Council of Europe, dedicated to promoting wine heritage and wine tourism. The meeting will take place in Thessaloniki (Greece) and will bring together representatives from various countries that belong to this international network.
This will be Reus Promoció’s first participation as a member of Iter Vitis, together with the city of Turin, following its recent accession. It will help consolidate the city’s presence within the European Vermouth Route, a project driven by Iter Vitis to highlight European destinations linked to this emblematic drink.
“By joining Iter Vitis, we are taking a very important step in Reus’s international projection,” said the Councillor for City Projection, Noemí Llauradó. “Vermut de Reus is a product that expresses our identity and a key element of our food and wine heritage. Being part of this network places us in a European context that recognises quality, tradition and innovation in viticulture and winemaking,” she explained.
During the assembly, Reus Promoció will present Vermut de Reus as a product that expresses the city’s identity and is a key element of its food and wine heritage, as well as the initiatives under way to boost its tourism and cultural profile, in support of Reus’s international positioning.
“Taking part in meetings like this helps us build alliances with other European destinations that share the same values and goals,” Llauradó added. “It is an opportunity to learn, to tell people who we are and to strengthen Reus’s commitment to promoting our heritage and our most representative product: vermouth,” she concluded.
Participation in the Iter Vitis Assembly reinforces Reus Promoció’s commitment to the international promotion of Vermut de Reus and to creating synergies with other European destinations that share values of quality, tradition and innovation in the wine sector. This action is included in Reus’s external strategy within the city’s Municipal Action Plan.
