The XXIV edition of the “CITTÀ DEL VINO” International Wine Competition will take place from 29 to 31 May 2026 in Pramaggiore, within the framework of the National Wine Exhibition of Pramaggiore.
Organised by the Città del Vino Association, the competition is held under the scientific patronage of the Organisation Internationale de la Vigne et du Vin (OIV) in collaboration with Iter Vitis – Les Chemins de la Vigne, reaffirming the strong link between wine excellence, territory, and cultural heritage.
This international competition aims to:
- promote high-quality wines and the territories where they are produced;
- raise awareness of wine culture and grape varieties across different countries;
- support local communities and wine cities in their role as drivers of sustainable economic development.
Participation is open to EU and non-EU producers, with wines holding PDO / PGI status or geographical indication, as well as quality sparkling wines. As an international competition, at least 20% of participating samples must originate from outside Italy, ensuring diversity and global representation.
Wines are evaluated by international juries composed mainly of foreign experts (oenologists, technologists, sommeliers, journalists), following official OIV evaluation standards. Awards include Grand Gold, Gold, and Silver Medals, with a maximum of 30% of entries receiving distinctions, in line with OIV regulations.
For Iter Vitis, participation in this initiative strengthens the visibility of wine routes, wine cities, and cultural landscapes, reinforcing the shared mission of promoting wine as a cultural expression, not only a product. Awarded wines and territories will benefit from international promotion through dedicated communication channels, exhibitions, and events.
