Reus will take part this Friday, 17 April, in the first action of the European project linked to the future European Vermouth Route. It will take place in Turin, at one of the most emblematic venues of the Association of Historic Cafés, Caffè Fiori, as part of an initiative that connects the three territories with the aim of highlighting the cultural and gastronomic heritage associated with this drink.
This meeting will mark the start of a series of international actions to be rolled out in the three participating countries, aimed at building a shared European narrative around vermouth. The project will focus on the stories, places and traditions that have shaped Vermouth culture, integrating it into European cultural routes.
In addition to Friday’s planned session, the Reus Promoció technical team will also take part on Saturday in the Frontiers (The Content Industry Summit) programme, an international meeting bringing together professionals and projects linked to the cultural and content industries. Within this framework, work will continue on European cultural routes and on building the European Vermouth Route, strengthening alliances with other territories and extending the project’s reach in an interdisciplinary European context.
The initiative is part of the Iter Vitis network, which promotes the enhancement of wine heritage at European level and encourages cooperation between territories with their own identities linked to wine and its derived products.
In this context, Reus will host one of the project’s actions next October, as part of the Reus Modernista Festival and the Gaudí Year. This event is envisaged as a meeting point for European professionals, institutions and territories, reinforcing the city’s international projection.
During its participation, Reus will highlight its model of tourism linked to vermouth, which combines heritage, gastronomy and local identity to create unique experiences. This position has consolidated the city as a reference point and as the capital of Vermouth, with the capacity to lead European cooperation initiatives.
In addition, participation in this project will allow Reus to strengthen its active role in the European sphere, committing to close collaboration with the other territories involved. This cooperation is seen as an opportunity to share knowledge, drive new initiatives and strengthen the joint position within European cultural tourism.
With this action, Reus will continue to advance its internationalisation strategy, projecting its identity linked to vermouth, Modernisme and culture as key areas of development and tourist appeal.
